4th of July happiness

as everyone knows. this is my favorite holiday. ever!

We started our day off with the yearly parade with my family. We have my moms side and my dads side there. It is always so fun to see everyone. My kids loved it! Hadley was a bit tired from staying up late the night before (poor girl is getting 2 top teeth) so she mostly sat with different people and watched. Kohen was waving hi, giving high fives, getting candy and loving it all.  We then went back to my parents house with everyone and had breakfast.
best family tradition.

we took a nice family nap and then went out to dinner.
then off to the fireworks with my moms side of the family. they had some music playing and grandma julie got the kids toys that they enjoyed so much.
we drove home and passed out. We love this day and the time we are able to spend with family and remember those who have made it possible for us to have our freedom.

let me just show you how hard it is for us to get a picture.....

and soooo when we have a family picture where my 1 and 2 year old are looking at the camera (or anywhere near) we are happy haha
love them and how much energy they have.

life keeps going

As I am sure everyone knows by now that I had surgery. I had my entire colon removed! yikes. This was a long time coming surgery and was a very hard decision we made as a family. I kept saying "what if I die".. just trying to be all dramatic. ha! so I wanted a picture with my babies before I went in for surgery. We took this picture the night before I went to the hospital. I HATE my fat face from all the medicines I was on but I wanted that picture in case I died. ha!ha!
on a side note, I am on ZERO medicines now. could not be happier about that.

as I said. life goes on. Even though I was in the hospital for 4 days having my lovely surgery life was still going on. Hadley fell down the staris and needed her daddy. He had just gotten off work and came to hang out with me at the hospital when we got a call for him to go home because Hadley needed him. The first picture is of Kellen and Hadley at the doctor office. She broke her sweet little arm. Doesn't stop this brave girl though. She does everything she wants still and is so funny with her cast. She knows how to take it off so we are constantly putting it back on and trying to keep her busy so she will leave it on.

Kohen still had gym class and still loves it so much. Since Kohen was born so early he has seen and still sees many many different doctors. He had a doctor appointment while I was down with one of the higher up doctors and so Kellen and Grandma Julie were able to go and take him. We are so lucky with how things turned out with Kohen. We have heard stories and seen other children who were born early like him and are not as lucky.

We have been so spoiled and lucky that my mom was able to take FOUR weeks off from work to stay home and help take care of Kohen, Hadley and me. She has been such a huge help and my kids have grown even closer to her. I can not thank her enough for changing a million diapers, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, feeding the kids and so much more. She is the best mom to even think about taking that time off from her life to help keep mine going. THANK YOU mom! we love you so much and appreciate you more than we can ever say.

Life is going on and we are getting super healthy around here..
going to ride horses has become a usual thing again and of coarse the library.
LOVE getting back to my normal healthy life.

one, two, three

trying to take pictures of my kids is always a work out.
One of us hurry's and puts them next to each other while the other one has the camera ready to go. Hadley is smiling but Kohen isn't
they are both looking in the same direction!!!!
 Kohen running away
 Hadley running away
So we think.. hm maybe if we sit them down. nope. Kohen just wants to kiss her! LOVE how much he loves his sister. I wish I took more pictures of my kids together but it is not an easy task.
Love them:)

happy birthday Hadders

It seems like all we have done around here is birthday's,  holiday's, shopping and planning. crazy is how we would describe it. I never shared a ton of my pregnancy pictures when I was pregnant with Hadley but here is the last pregnant picture we had taken. at 34 weeks and 7 days? right before she was here!
I started taking pictures when Kohen turned one of them the night before their birthday. last picture of that age. So I decided to keep the tradition going with Hadders. the last picture of my baby as a baby.. she is now a one year old! The day of her birthday it was a Sunday and she was sick so we had to cancel her party. (she and everybody else were sharing sicknesses) We just hung out with her, sang to her all day long and fed her some things we know she loves. including this cupcake. she loved it!

This is her birthday invite that we made. I am so excited that I have a little girl to be my best friend like my mom is mine. But oh my heck, planning a little girls birthday party was so much harder than planning Kohen's boy party.
We decided to do a sparkle, gold theme for her party. it actually turned out super cute!

we had my mom make her cake. turned out soo cute! and she loved it. played in it like we knew she would. crazy Hadley!

hadley loved opening the gifts that everyone was so sweet to give her. She sure is a spoiled girl. She LOVED this bag. she kept putting it over her face and we would say boo when she lifted it up.
Hadley is the sweetest little girl. She will cuddle with you randomly and is seriously the most wild girl ever. she is so funny and knows how to stick up for herself having her big bro. She is walking, talking and starting sign language. She throws the biggest fits now, even throws her head back and all. I seriously can not believe she is already one. I remember finding out we were going to have another baby like it was yesterday.. time goes so fast once you have kids. We love Hadley and are so glad she is part of our fam.
